Dental Checkups in Baltimore, MD

Getting regular dental checkups is essential for keeping your smile healthy. We recommend visiting our office every six months for your dental checkup and professional teeth cleaning to remove any plaque or buildup not removed by brushing/flossing.

What Happens at a Dental Checkup?

A dental checkup allows us to examine your oral health and monitor any changes that have occurred since your last visit.

A regular dental cleaning appointment includes:

  • Check-in at the front desk. The first step in any visit is to check in at the front desk—please bring your most recent insurance card to each appointment.
  • X-rays, if needed. Occasionally, we use digital X-rays to obtain a detailed view of your teeth and their health to detect any conditions that may be hidden beneath the surface.
  • Professional teeth cleaning. Your dental hygienist will complete your teeth cleaning to clean and polish your teeth while eliminating any plaque, bacteria, and other buildups on your teeth that cannot be removed with at-home brushing and flossing.
  • Exam. After your teeth are cleaned, Dr. Wolfson or Dr. Nolan fully examines your oral health, including identifying any cavities, tooth decay, gum disease, or signs of oral cancer present to identify any possible issues as soon as possible.
